The American rock band U2 sung a special version of “Pride (In The Name of Love)” at a concert in Las Vegas about one month after Oct 7 (video). See the lyrics below, as modified by lead singer Bono and lightly-edited for use as a Seder reading.

U2 & Bono singing “Pride (In The Name of Love)” in a special version after October 7

[verse 1]
One man come in the name of love
One man come and go
One man come, he to justify
One man to overthrow

[chorus]
In the name of love
What more in the name of love
In the name of love
What more in the name of love

[verse 2]
One man, caught on a barbed wire fence.
One man, he resists.
One man, washed up on an empty beach.
One man, betrayed by a kiss.

[chorus repeats]

[verse 3]
Early morning, Oct 7,
As the sun is rising,
In the desert sky,
Stars of David.

They took your life.
But they could not take your pride.
Could not take your pride.

[Bono spoke]
Sing for our brothers and sisters.
Who they themselves were singing
at the Supernova Sukkot Festival in Israel.

Sing for those, our people.
Our kind of people.
Music people.
Playful, experimental people.
We sing for them.

[chorus repeats]
